Some news

June 21, 2009 at 15:42 (Uncategorized)

Well, I know, I’m late updating again, but I really didn’t feel like posting an update last week. I did some adjusting in the coloring of my target lists. I’ve started with some new targets, finished some.]

First: I enlisted as a blood donor. Although I know I’m not able to give blood for another 4 more months since I went to Africa and took Malaria medication, I wrote up when they asked me on Saturday when I was working at the open day of the fire brigade at Amersfoort. I’ll be contatced for a talk with a doc and more important: a blood test.

Next, I bought a couple of new piercings with some others that were ordering from a online store. I hope they’ll arrive soon.

I’ve started completing some other targets as well, the more time consuming ones. I opened the big heavy scary box with paper stuff. At this moment it’s about empty for 1/3rd. By the way, Ive been able to check out my cycling clothes and they are great.  Asked my next address for postcrossing as well.

Hope to update soon.

#15 & #42

June 7, 2009 at 17:02 (Uncategorized)

A few days have past since my last post and another target has been completed. I added 2 new targets to my list. It is very hard to think of no-nonsense targets. I could still use some suggestions (and I actually wonder if anybody reads this).

I still had a “boekenbon” lying around from my birthday and I used it to start finishing my Raymond Feist collection(#42).  Good thing that I went to the bookstore, since I saw the publisher is starting to change the looks of the cover (ugly ones by the way), so I’ve got to hurry to complete everything in the nice black cover all my books have.

I went to the cycling store as well and spent a lot of money at once. However, now I can say I’ve got a helmet, cycling pants, a shirt and gloves. No money for shoes or a real bike left anyways, but this is a nice start. All this is every necessary anyway since I’m going on a sort of cycling holidays on Mallorca, with the person in question from target 27. I’m really looking forward to it, but as I need to get my condition somewhat up again I need to be cycling a lot. Unluckily the weather wasn’t helping today. As soon as I got on my bike, it started raining like cats and dogs, no safe conditions I decided and now I’m inside again :( .

Today I finally had some time to get my eyes remeasured. And it was about time.  Spent quite some time there and my lenses clearly need adjustment. My left eye dropped from -2.25 to -2.75 and my right eye suddenly has got a cylinder, and goes up from -1.75 to -1.50 with a cyclinder of 0.75 :| . A shocking result but I’m so glad I went. I hope it saves me a lot of headaches. Hope to finish some more targets soon.

No progress :(

May 25, 2009 at 13:00 (Uncategorized)

Well, there is one target I didn’t manage to keep up with: keep the web-log up to date. I’ve been very busy with my studies last weeks, as well with doing Red Cross duties. From Friday on until Sunday I dad 3 shifts which cost me the whole day. Friday was at Dutch student athletics competitions, the weekend was Motor Cross at Cuyck. I had my share of fun, haven’t been doing that much.

I planned to do some of my tasks last Friday, but I got a phone call that they haven’t been able to find someone to cover the duty on Friday… so there went my plans. I hope I’m able to do the things I planned to do later, maybe I’ll take a day off on Wednesday.

To be continued.

#27

I am so relieved, I finally have some progress for #27. Tomorrow evening I can ask all the questions I want.  Now it’s time to get nervous, although I think it’ll be positive…. To be continued.

Edit: well, I got to ask the questions, and I must say that I’m very relieved. I won’t post all the details but I’m very happy with the results. First target completed.

Find yourself a nice PhD…

May 4, 2009 at 13:21 (Study, Work)

Well, this list isn’t without difficulties I encountered. Today my supervisor asked me when I would finish my study since he had some nice PhD projects, where he’d like to see me working on in the future. Since this is one of my targets (find a nice PhD), I wonder if I can count it as finished or not, especially since it will still take some time to finish my study. I could be finished mext year when I would stop my MSc Biogeology. On the other hand, that is also a target and I really like the study, have good marks (nice for another target) and it would be a pity if I wouldn’t be able to finish it. It is really a dilemma because my study support from the government stops in September, I will get 8 more months from Nijmegen University, but then I’ll have to start borrowing money. My loan is already very high, and it would be a great advantage if I could start earning myself some money. Also, I could stay in Utrecht as well, which is nice too.

Very hard as you see. What would you do with the list? Hope to hear from you.
